This year's NACON announced August 23rd-26th in Orlando

It's Time to Register for the Coast Guard Auxiliary's 2017 National Convention August 23rd-26th in Orlando, Florida NACON 2017 in Orlando -- This year’s National Convention is at the Rosen Centre and, as always, has lots going on: Attend informative workshops where you can hone your skills, learn new ones, and consider best practices from around the country and around the world. Take advantage of outstanding networking opportunities with your Auxiliary and Active Duty shipmates. Attend the open meeting of the National Board of the Coast Guard Auxiliary for a behind-the-scenes view of your Coast Guard Auxiliary Senior Leaders at work. You will have opportunities to meet and talk with our partners from Australia, the Dominican Republic, the Philippines, and many others who are frequently in attendance, along with some of the Coast Guard’s Admirals who genuinely appreciate the many valuable contributions of the Coast Guard Auxiliary. The workshops will have something for everyone. If you want to improve your teaching or public affairs skills, there will be sessions for you. If Paddlecraft or Personal Watercraft activity is what floats your boat, NACON 2017 will deliver. Want to improve your leadership skills so that you can help your unit in many different ways? Leadership training is on the agenda. It’s not all work and no play. Fellowship is a huge part of NACON and Auxiliary life with two major social events planned: Friday night’s informal Fellowship Dinner's theme is "Team Spirt" with music provided by the Bahia Dance Band. Take advantage of the opportunity to meet old friends, make new ones, and put a face to that voice on the telephone you've been working with. Come and join the fun. Saturday night is the National Commodore’s Banquet – share a formal dinner, see major awards presented, learn about issues of importance to the Coast Guard and Auxiliary, and talk with your colleagues and old and new friends.

US Coast Guard Launches New Online Newsroom

WASHINGTON - The Coast Guard is scheduled to launch its new, online digital newsroom, http://www.news.uscg.mil, Thursday afternoon. The mobile-friendly content management system replaces the service's previous news site, www.uscgnews.com, and offers an email subscription service that delivers both regional and national Coast Guard news.

Users can subscribe to the news delivery service. This new capability will allow users to manage their Coast Guard news preferences through the service's subscription preferences page.

Users currently receiving Coast Guard news via uscgnews.com will continue to receive news releases via email; however, users can opt-out of the emails by clicking the unsubscribe button at the bottom of any Coast Guard email sent from the new system.

Coast Guard Launches App for Safer Boating - Download It Free

As the nation's recreational boating safety coordinator, the Coast Guard's mission is to minimize loss of life, personal injury, property damage, and environmental harm. Their boating safety program involves public education programs, regulation of boat design and construction, approval of boating safety equipment, and vessel safety checks for compliance with federal and state safety requirements. The Coast Guard Mobile App supports these missions by providing the essential services and information most commonly requested by boaters.

Who We Are

Since 1939, the men and women of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary have volunteered millions of hours in support of the U.S. Coast Guard and the recreational boating public.
We are the uniformed civilian volunteer arm of the Coast Guard.

Our Missions

Recreational Boating Safety - consisting of our many boating safety classes, distributing boating safety information to the public, providing free vessel safety checks, and doing safety patrols on land, water and in the air.
Support of Maritime Homeland Security and other maritime safety challenges that have emerged in recent years.
